Mohammad Nasser, a leading member of the Muslim Brotherhood who was exiled to Egypt just before the uprising, has returned to the family home and has taken over the kitchen, said the daughter and son-in-law.

Mr. Abd-al-Majid was freed from prison in June. He lives in a villa in Cairo’s northern suburb of Heliopolis. His wife, who works for the family business of a private health clinic, says she has not seen him since.

Mr. Abd-al-Majid’s wife, who is not named for fear of retaliation, said he has not seen her for almost a year after she asked him to marry her. She was asked to wait until there was an official decree by the family for her to get married. Mr. Abd-al-Majid later sought the approval of the family but the officials rejected his request once again.

“The family never has given permission for him to wed my mother,” she said.
